  • Beginning in 2009, mouthpiece must be of a visible color other than clear or white
  • During the off-season, coaches may not hold practice with more than 11 players (1 less than a full team) on any day

New Teams
To become a member of the NCHSWLA, new teams must complete an application (see Membership Application link at left) and return it to the secretary. It is strongly suggested this be completed by September 15 and that a representative(s) of the new team attend the annual membership meeting in mid to late September to receive valuable information and support, and to schedule games for the spring season.

Remember, sportmanship is the responsibility of the coaches. All coaches, teams, and parents are expected to show the utmost respect for all other coaches, players, and referees. The coaches are responsible for the behavior of their players, parents and fans.

Referee Clinics 2008:

Referees are needed to serve the growing women's lacrosse community. To find out more, contact Michelle Hood at NCZebras@hotmail.com. Training clinics are held across the state and are open to anyone (new or experienced) interested in becoming a referee.

Sanctions Committee

The Sanctions Committee functions as an ad hoc committee and is appointed by the Executive Committee on a case-by-case basis. It is comprised of non-involved coaches (including 1 member of the Executive Committee) and conference reps and referees. Any incident should be reported to a team's conference rep and/or to a member of the Executive Committee. The ad hoc Sanctions Committee will investigate and decide on a sanction promptly (ideally within one week) and recommend a sanction (if any) to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is empowered to modify or ameliorate the penalty recommended by the Sanctions Committee, but may not wipe out a sanction
(i.e. may not declare a team not guilty that the Sanctions Committee investigation has determined is guilty).
